Overview Headline
SilOff system is used to cure lost circulation in non- productive zones. A gelled structure of non-hydraulic cement material formed instantaneously when proper ratios of low viscosity CE-16L solutions get mixed with reactive pre-flush pumped ahead. The two incompatible fluids components of SilOff are pumped in fluid trains separated with the help of a spacer fluid in between and produces a gel-like structure when get in contact with each other. This gel particulates agglomerate and form a semi rigid and insoluble paste. The precipitate will permanently decrease the permeability of the weak formation. It should not be used near the pay zones and is typically useful in partial to severe losses.
It can also be used in conjunction with cement slurry to lower the permeability in high fluid loss thief zones.
Recommended Application
Typically, 100-200 bbls. of SilOff is pumped across high permeable or thief zones in the affected area followed by cement slurry. However, SilOff treatment has to be tailored dependent upon the severity of the losses and formation characteristics.
Features
- Mix and pump easily.
- Permanently decrease the permeability of the “thief zone”.
- Provide a reactive surface for cement bonding.
Applications
- Severe Lost circulation.
- For water shutoff.
- Permanent zone abandoning.
- Casing leak repair.
